I’ve Never Loved Like This by louserz
The thing is, Obama had never been comfortable in the spotlight. Of course, he had to learn to live with it when his presidency was announced, and it had slowly taken a shine to him. Harry, however, deserved to be on the other side of the camera.
“It’s going to be all right,” Obama whispered lowly into Harry’s ear, hand on his shoulder, as the limo came to a fluid halt. Harry’s eyes fluttered shut, teeth at his lip, chewing.
“I’m so used to,” he waved his hand, searching for the right words. Obama caught it in his own, pressing his lips to the soft skin on the back. Harry smelled of vanilla and lilac, a smell Obama hoped would never leave his own clothes, now that Harry was openly his.
“I know you’re used to being on the other side of all this, baby,” Obama said, hoping for any small comfort. “You are so, so wonderful. The nation is going to love you, I promise.”
Harry leaned back into Obama’s warmth, seeking reassurance, just before the door of the car slid open, and the blinding explosion of light took over his senses.
Walking the red carpet with the president, his now openly known boyfriend, would prove to be a challenge. With Obama’s hand in his, and the promise of later that night, he couldn’t bring himself to mind.
